Living History Performance
This year our K-7th grade students will be presenting a living history performance on Friday, November 17, 2017, beginning at 10:00 a.m. For the Living History performance, students will dress in character and will give a short presentation (1-2 minutes) about the historical figure of their choice. Students should choose someone who made a positive contribution to history. They will also need to incorporate a “button” or “switch” as part of their costume; for example, students may put a paper circle on the back of their hand for a button. Guest will go around to each student, press the “button” and listen to a short speech about the character. This is an exciting way to bring history to life for everyone. You will need to help your child with research and costumes. We will have a rehearsal on Thursday, November 16. Students should bring their costumes to school and have their speeches ready on Thursday for rehearsal. Students will need to come to school on Thursday dressed in their regular school uniforms. They will change for rehearsal at school.
Covered Dish Meal
At 11:00 a.m. on Friday, following the Living History performance, we will share a meal together much like the pilgrims did for the first Thanksgiving. We will dismiss at noon for the holiday. Parents are asked to bring a covered dish, drinks, or dessert.
Our school will dismiss at noon on Friday, November 17, 2017, and will be closed Monday through Friday, November 20-24, 2017, for our Thanksgiving break. School will resume on Monday, November 27, 2017. We hope during this break that you will be able to spend time with family and friends and reflect on the goodness of our God.
Canned Food Drive
We are now collecting for our canned food drive for the holiday season. We will continue to collect non-perishables until the Christmas break. If you would like to participate, you may bring your donation to the office. Thank you for your help in this community outreach project.
