School begins at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014. School dismisses at 3:00 p.m. Students can arrive at 7:45 and need to be picked up by 3:15. Please let the office know if you need other arrangements.
We appreciate your feedback and kind words in our parent survey. We have made quite a few improvements to our facilities and program based on those suggestions. Thanks again for your time.
This year we will be offering lunch on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We will be operating a voucher system in which you can prepay a lunch account. After that, you will be able to login to our website and order your child’s lunch on our parent portal based on your account balances. We hope that this will help make lunch ordering easier.
WHCA is moving to a B.Y.O.D. (Bring Your Own Device) policy. The policy would eventually require your children to bring their own laptops tablets. This will allow us to focus our resources more on classroom technology instead of repairing and replacing classroom computers. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
Columbus Tech will be administering the COMPASS on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, to students who are fifteen years and older. We encourage you to have your child go online and look up practice test so that they will be familiar with the testing procedure.
After taking the COMPASS, students will be allowed to enroll in a college course on our campus at no cost to you as a parent. Columbus Tech will be offering a Customer Service course designed to help students develop skills necessary to compete in today’s market. Students who successfully pass the course will receive college credit. This will be a great way to introduce your child to college work while still in high school. Currently, the course is scheduled from 2:00 – 3:00.
Student and Parent Portal
Be on the lookout for an email containing a link to your child’s portal. This portal will give you information about your child’s grades, attendance, school announcements and calendar events.
Please log in when you get your link and go to the registration tab to make sure your information is correct. Also, you can change your password, and make changes to your preferences. Thank you for your patience as we implement this system. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
We are in the process of converting our invoices to an electronic form sent via email. Please let the office know if you would still prefer to receive your invoice through the U.S. Postal system.
