MOWR (Move on When Ready)
Students, who are ready, in 9th -12th grades, may be able to take college courses. As a student of WHCA, these courses can be completed at our school, online, or through on-campus attendance at no additional expense.

Not all students are ready to pursue college courses, but some are able to handle the additional rigor and workload. If the school recommends the student, then the students and parents who decide to pursue college courses need to be aware that courses taken through MOWR are counted as college credit and high school credit. If the student does poorly, then they will not receive credit for high school either.

If you are interested in your child participating in MOWR, please contact the office for more information.

School Choice Week
Today, your children were given yellow scarves to celebrate school choice week. WHCA is one of more than 13,000 schools participating in National School Choice Week (January 22–28, 2017). The goal of the Week is to shine a positive spotlight on all types of education options for children—from traditional public schools to public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning, and homeschooling.

The Week provides an opportunity for families in communities across America to discover more about the education options available to children. WHCA salutes the parents, teachers, and staff for their dedication to providing a quality education for children, and for their involvement in this nationwide celebration.

For more information about National School Choice Week, visit www.schoolchoiceweek.com.

WHCA will be attending a field trip to see the circus at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta GA, on Friday, February 17, 2017.  The price of the tickets will be $13.00 per person and must be purchased by Friday.  Since this field trip takes place in Atlanta, for safety reasons, each student will need to be transported and accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Also, this is a school-wide field trip; those not attending will need to stay home, since we will not be offering any classes that day.
